Reflect and Connect
Reflect and Connect can help you be more present in your child’s world, reconnect by supporting their learning at home.
Reflect and Connect will equip and support you with education resources to bring back a positive connection between you and your child, allow you to understand what they are learning at school, support them with any learning obstacles, creating harmony and happiness in the home!
My name is Michelle and I am here to help and encourage you and your family to connect with your child through supporting learning at home.
As an experienced teacher and education consultant, I have developed Educational resources to help you support your child’s learning. Often in the past, parents have expressed how distant they feel from their child’s education, whether it’s not understanding content or methods taught or due to the restricted communication between home and school. My resources will help you understand what is being taught at school, and allow you to get involved and support their learning at home. These resources can be accessed in products, or through parenting workshops in the Central Coast NSW area.
Also on my website, there is a focus on positive child behaviour. There are e books available and still being developed to support parents in dealing with various behaviours at home. My first e book to begin the journey of correcting child behaviours, is on parent wellbeing. The best thing you can do is firstly focus on your own wellbeing. A wellbeing in tact will then allow you to understand behaviour more clearly and rationally. Soon to be released e books will also cover topics including understanding and managing emotions, making changes to diet and nutrition, using a more positive parenting approach during every interaction with your child and classroom management for teachers.
Keep up to date with the Reflect and Connect blogs full of ideas and handy tips for child friendly recipes for the fussy eaters, fun activity ideas to avoid boredom, how to make your child happy, overcoming the breakfast blues, nurturing their learning at home and even a blog for teacher-Mum!
Keep visiting this site, as more resources to purchase will be made available. Education and behaviour consultation opportunities through e mail or local home visits are also available.
CONNECT THROUGH LEARNING
The main purposes in life that children possess at their stage of life, is to have fun and to learn. One of the biggest components of a child’s growth is learning. Learning helps to mould their character, confidence and how they see the world. Learning is something they will do all through life. So, be part of that process and be present and part of their learning experiences. It is a commitment, but will create a life connection worthwhile to you and child! Children can sense when you are really committed to their learning, I am here to help you with it!
You will need to STOP, make time, have fun!
At present I am developing Literacy and Numeracy packs for Kindergarten (5-6yrs), Year 1 (6-7yrs) and Year 2 (7-8yrs). These will be available to purchase and download from this site. Those who book into parenting workshops or organise consultation home visits will receive these packs as hard copies plus additional various resources like counters, dice, number flash cards etc
PARENT WELLBEING
Don’t jump in too fast in analysing a child’s behaviour….it all begins with you…….
YOUR WELLBEING IS A HUGE INFLUENCE ON BEHAVIOUR…..
My Philosophy is based on the importance of our role as parent, educator and nurturer. Children begin their lives with a clean slate, and everything we say, show and do is a model for our children. Life skills, learning, emotional awareness, the wonder and awe of life are taught by us. To make parenting effective we need to always reflect on ourselves, our behaviour and wellbeing and how we maintain our relationships and manage life.
We also need to constantly find ways to make connections with our children.
